Evergreen Credit Union’s support of Free Fridays and the Susie Konkel Online Gallery has enabled the museum to offer a range of programs and events under our mission of Art for All, the PMA’s guiding principle and commitment to Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI).

In 2020, we went on the lookout for the next generation of artists from Maine and beyond, asking our community to share artwork by children and teens in our brand-new online gallery. We are grateful to Evergreen Credit Union for supporting this gallery and helping us encourage a love for art in all Maine youth.
The impetus for the online gallery came from the generosity of Susie Konkel and the Konkel family, who enabled the PMA to bring art experiences to our community, most notably through the Susie Konkel Pass which provides everyone age 21 and under free, unlimited admission to the PMA, as well as opportunities to attend special events, select free screenings of PMA Films, updates about museum happenings, and more. In its first year, 1,135 young adults, teenagers, and kids became members of the PMA. (Psst! Sign Up Here!) Now, with the Susie Konkel Gallery for Kids, the PMA is sharing our community with the world, through our digital gallery. So far, we have received more than 80 submissions, and the number continues to grow!
