Community Feedback Time!: July 24-28
We need your ideas, on our future.
Do you have feedback or ideas on what you want to see, experience, and feel when we open our new wing? We want to hear from you!
Throughout The PMA Blueprint, we’ve heard a ton from our communities on things they want from their museum. Now it’s your turn. Our partners Openbox will be onsite and around town from July 24-28 to hear from you and your neighbors about all things future PMA. Interested? Fill out this quick survey to be selected for hour-long conversations as individuals or small groups and get ready to share. The sessions will be hosted at the PMA and a selection of community spaces around Portland and greater Maine.
All participants will be compensated: $100 for individuals and $80 for each group participant.
Openbox is a Black- and Asian-led studio that designs with communities. As part of The PMA Blueprint, the team at Openbox are exploring how to design more inviting spaces for all of Portland and Maine’s diverse communities. Openbox’s engagement with Maine’s communities began in April with in-depth, exploratory conversations with immigrant families, Wabanaki people, and youth and young adults across Maine on how they experience welcome and belonging in spaces. Building upon earlier community conversations, Openbox is now exploring designs to better understand how the new space can meet the needs of communities and empower people to experience the PMA on their own terms.
