Family Art-Making: Driskell Collage + Mixed Media (In person)

At-home art kit pick up at PMA

In response to the David Driskell: Icons of Nature and History exhibition, artist Rachel Gloria Adams designed an all-ages art-making activity for home or anywhere you like to create. This take-home art activity will engage families in mixed media collage-making inspired by Driskell’s artwork. Drop by the PMA on Saturday, June 19th any time from 11am to 1pm to pick up the art at-home kit, which includes all materials and instructions you will need to create your own version of this activity. Rachel Gloria Adams will be on hand to say hello and offer advice!

Please note there is a limited supply of take-home art kits and it will be on a first-come first-served basis.

ARTIST BIO: 

With a passion for beautiful spaces, delicious meals and family- Rachel Gloria Adams is a textile designer and painter living in Portland, ME. Rachel has worked as an arts organizer and educator and has exhibited her artwork throughout New England. Her most recent project and business venture TACHEE utilizes imagery she developed through painting as textile print.

Rachel and husband, Ryan Adams, have recently taken on a series of murals, Piece Together Project, throughout Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood celebrating locals that have shaped the community.
