Join the PMA and Jade Integrated Health for a Breathing and Movement Yoga Program inspired by the work of Clifford Ross. The All Levels Vinyasa experience will start out with a short sitting practice while we work together to establish Ujjayi Breath. Sanskrit for Victorious Breath, Ujjayi Pranayama emulates the sound of waves crashing in the distance, the subject of Ross’s work.

Governed by the element of water, the sacral chakra is associated with our ability to “Let Go”, as one of the properties of water is impermanence. The sacral chakra is considered the foundation of your emotional body, relationships with self and others, and your innate creativity reside here. The flow will gather in energy as we move through a series of both kneeling and standing hip openers, attempting to synchronize the breath, using it to shift us from pose to pose, embracing the fluidity that can be found in change, in motion.

As this is an outdoor yoga practice please dress accordingly. Bring a mat or a beach towel to practice on, and any other props you may need for support, such as blocks or straps. Please bring water and try to arrive hydrated. Take a look at Ross’s work, cut and paste his waves to your third eye, and create a visual watermark for your practice.

In 2012 I completed my 200-hour RYT certification, my 92 hour Level One training with the Baptiste Institute in 2015, and 300 hour RYT certification with Boston School of Yoga in 2020. Currently I direct the studios and therapeutic yoga program at Jade Integrated Health, and also teach for Scarborough Yoga, instructing class types ranging from All Levels Vinyasa to Gentle yoga as well as a self designed class called Core/Yin Fusion. Additionally, I teach privately in a women’s substance abuse and eating disorder recovery program, and spent 4 years instructing at the Greater Portland YMCA, an experience which informs my teaching to this day.

My goal is to make yoga available to everyone, to aid in cultivating a moment of stillness in the body from which an inner sense of wellbeing can flourish. Yoga is a tool that helps overcome the broad range of limiting factors we encounter in the human experience and changes our way being both on and off the mat, it just takes practice.
