“Recovery in Maine: Androscoggin County”: A story of the ways friendship, connection, and community can transform trauma and heal painful pasts. The film profiles Jeremy and Michael, once roommates at the Maine State Prison, who have since joined forces to stand for their community and support individuals in their recovery journey.
Established in 2018, Points North’s Recovery in Maine program is a statewide series of documentary film screenings that spark public discussions about substance use disorder, the recovery process, and our collective response to the opioid epidemic. Over the past four years, the program has produced over three dozen screenings in communities across Maine, reaching thousands.
