Enjoy morning treats, refreshments, and conversation beginning at 9:30 a.m. before a special lecture with Mecklenburg in the Bernard Osher Foundation Auditorium beginning at 10 a.m.

Dr. Virginia Mecklenburg, Chief Curator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum, has curated over 25 exhibitions at the Smithsonian, including African American Masters: Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights Era and Beyond, Telling Stories: Norman Rockwell from the Collections of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg,  Edward Hopper: The Watercolors and Metropolitan Lives: The Ashcan Artists and Their New York. Mecklenburg has published research on George Bellows, Richard Estes, William Glackens, Edward Hopper, Robert Indiana, Georgia O’Keeffe, and John Sloan.
