Paper Daisies Art Activity

Materials and tools needed:

  • Glue Stick

  • Pencil or Pen

  • Construction Paper

  • Scissors

  • Optional: Picture Frame

Instructions

  1. Take your petal strip and draw a line across the length of the strip 3/8-inch down from the top of your strip. This will be the line you cut when making your petals.

  2. Take your scissors and make small cuts upward until you reach your drawn line. These cuts will make the petals of your daisy. If you fold your strip in half, you can cut your time in half!

  3. Once you finish cutting your petals, take your center of the flower strip and glue one end of it to your petal strip.

  4. Start rolling the other end of your center of the flower strip and keep rolling until you reach the end of your petal strip.

  5. Glue the end of your strip to your rolled daisy.

  6. Push down your petals so it resembles a little daisy.

Materials and tools needed:

  • Pipe cleaner

  • Yarn (about 80 inches)

  • Scissors

  • Fork

  • Optional: clip, twist tie, or rubber band.

Instructions

  1. Line up the end of fork with end of the pipe cleaner.

  2. Wrap string around end of fork and pipe cleaner. *This is when it is helpful to use a clip, twist tie, or rubber band to secure the pipe cleaner to the fork when wrapping the yarn.

  3. Wrap entire length of yarn around fork and pipe cleaner. When wrapping the yarn around the fork, make sure to leave about an inch of the pipe cleaner at the end.

  4. Take yarn off the fork. Take the inch of pipe cleaner left on the end to twist around the yarn to secure it in place.

  5. Go in between loops of yarn with scissors and cut it to create petals of flower.

  6. You could leave your flower like this or add leaves by looping the pipe cleaner into your desired shape.
