Guidelines

  1. You must be a current member of the Maine Art Education Association (MAEA). To check your membership status, visit www.mainearted.org before completing the online registration form.
  2. You may submit one work of art per teacher per school.
  3. Artwork should not exceed 18 x 24 inches.
  4. Artwork must be ready to hang and have appropriate hanging hardware attached. Any work that does not come with appropriate hanging hardware will not be installed. 2D works should be framed or in Plexiglas with gallery clips (no glass, please). If you are reusing Plexiglas from past years, please make sure it is clean.
  5. Due to space limitations, the Museum cannot accept 3D sculpture that requires a pedestal. 3D work can be submitted if it is in a box frame or if it is relief work that can hang on the wall. Artwork must be ready to hang. Any work that does not come with appropriate hanging hardware will not be installed.
  6. Please mark the back of the student work with an up arrow (↑) to identify the top of the work. This is especially important for abstract art.

Please fill out the form completely. Be sure to double-check all information and spelling, the wall label that accompanies the artwork will be printed exactly as you enter the information here.

If you are submitting more than one artwork, you must fill out a new form for each individual work of art.

After you have entered all the information, click the “submit” button. Double check that the information is correct, then print the form and attach one copy to the back of the student artwork.

On the confirmation page, you will also have the opportunity to upload an image for local newspapers and other press purposes. Please use a high quality digital image of the student artwork. This is not a requirement for participation in YAM, but the Museum is no longer able to photograph all the works. If you wish to have an image available for your local press then you should submit a JPEG. Please photograph the work before framing to avoid glare. A high quality JPEG should be between 150 and 300 dpi, 5 x 7 inches, and between 1 and 2 MB. Thank you!
