When I started this project, I came to the Museum to see the space. It was relatively empty and I tried to imagine what it would look like if it were full. I watched people walk into the galleries to see the exhibition and wander a bit, looking for direction. I wanted to make a piece that viewers would become a part of as soon as they entered the exhibition—so that the wandering happened inside of the work. When I considered materials, I thought about this space, how it was constructed, why it was made, and what else those materials could have become.
